Volunteering at Poinsettia isn't just about classroom helping. There are 6 different ways your time directly supports our Panthers โ and every one of them counts.
Most parents picture volunteering as classroom helping or event setup. That's part of it โ but only a small part. The PTA tracks six different categories of volunteer activity, because Panther families contribute in many different ways.
Whether you have 30 minutes a month or 30 hours a year, there's a place for you. Tracking your hours helps us understand our community impact โ and it helps the school qualify for state and district recognition programs.
Don't underestimate what counts. If it supports our school or community, it counts. Log it.
Helping in the classroom โ reading with students, helping with stations, assisting teachers with prep, chaperoning field trips.
Helping with PTA events โ Jog-A-Thon stations, Halloween Parade setup, Variety Show backstage, Book Fair check-in.
Time spent supporting fundraising โ soliciting sponsors, coordinating Dine-Outs, securing auction items, managing the Auction online.
All the work that happens at home or after hours โ writing communications, designing flyers, coordinating logistics, managing email lists.
Time serving as a PTA board member or chairing a program. Includes meetings, planning sessions, training, and ongoing coordination.
Time spent advocating for the school in the broader Carlsbad community โ district meetings, recruiting new families, ambassadorship.
It takes 30 seconds. Do it after every event, meeting, or task โ even if it was 15 minutes.
